Innovative and Modern Solutions: Team DLH at DHITS

Members of the DLH team attended The Defense Health Information Technology Symposium (DHITS) in New Orleans, Louisiana from August 8 – 10, 2023. DHITS provides a unique venue for information sharing, leadership discussions, and upcoming new developments within the Military Health System, and offers health and IT professionals, military leadership, contractor support, and other vendors the opportunity for in-depth discussions to support each other for the betterment of excellent care for 9.6 million Military Service Members and their beneficiaries.

Crystal Arriaga, DLH Project Controller and Coordinator Section Lead, enjoyed the collaboration and camaraderie of DHITS. “DLH threw a really great welcome party, hosting an amazing turnout as the only party with beads and a large balcony on Bourbon Street!,” said Crystal.

As part of its Military Health portfolio, DLH supports the Defense Health Agency’s Solution Delivery Division (SDD). 81 government representatives from SDD joined 2,500+ total attendees at DHITS to hear from DHA senior leaders on this year’s theme, “Pursuing Enterprise Standardization: Joint, Resilient, Excellent.” SDD presented at four well-attended breakout sessions, sharing insights into decommissioning, biosurveillance, medical equipment device management, and the MED365 transition.

DLH seized the opportunity to highlight our virtual reality and artificial intelligence offerings during hands-on demonstrations in the Military Health System Pavilion Hall.

Larry Vandergrift, Senior Project Controller for the DLH-supported Individual Longitudinal Exposure Record (ILER) was fortunate enough to speak on behalf of our customer at DHITS. The DLH team attended the “DOEHRS-IH and ILER present Exposure Monitoring and Supporting a Continuum of Care” breakout session which had over 60 attendees. “Our clients appreciated our support leading up to and during the session,” Crystal mentioned.

DLH will continue to focus on the DHA’s goal of standardization and efficiency within the Military Health System. DHA’s strategic plan calls for forward-thinking strategy that focuses on innovative and modern solutions to build an integrated and resilient healthcare delivery system, and DHITS is the ideal venue to share ideas and collaborate with military and industry colleagues. We’ll see you next year!
