The CPL has provided biological and environmental specimen processing, short-term storage, laboratory support, and specimen management services for more than 15 years. The facility manages epidemiology field studies, supports national and international laboratory networks, and enhances quality assurance in various laboratory and field settings. Spanning over 7,100 square-feet, the laboratory space includes an open laboratory processing area, two freezer areas, offices, supply storage space, fire-protected cabinets for ambient tissue storage and more. All our specimen activities are guided and monitored by standardized project management practices that have been refined over the years. DLH has deep experience managing sample shipping to and from all 50 states and Puerto Rico, as well as international sites across the globe.

DLH is appraised at a Level 3 for the Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI), Version 2.0 for both development and service.

To secure this rating, a group of DLH employees trained and certified as appraisal team members worked with appraisal team leaders to complete benchmark appraisals. Through examination of objective evidence, the appraisal teams analyzed the extent to which DLH implemented the CMMI model. The teams presented final findings indicating Level 3 Maturity to the appraisal sponsors and other key stakeholders. Level 3 ratings indicate our organization’s processes are well characterized and understood, and defined in standards, procedures, tools, and methods.
