Health Services Research

DLH designs and conducts scientifically sound evaluations, research, and policy analyses that our customers use to develop successful programs and policies.

We apply our expertise in evaluation design, data collection methodologies, and analysis and synthesis to document the effectiveness of programs.

Health Program Evaluation

Health programs and portfolios need clear, measurable objectives, milestones, and results. Our evaluators work across the evaluation continuum, performing formative, process, outcome, and impact evaluations, and employing the full range of qualitative and quantitative data collection methods and tools.

Policy Analysis

DLH’s team of highly trained policy specialists, statisticians, communicators, and operations experts delve deep into policy, evaluating public and private solutions to vital challenges. Our analysis considers all factors, costs, and benefits, and determines how best agencies and organizations can accomplish their goals.

One key area of focus is health care. Our researchers work to identify the most effective approaches to arranging, managing, paying for, and delivering high quality health care by delving into the important questions: how do individuals access care? What are the costs of that care? What are the results? Our analysis provides up-to-date information on availability, cost, and quality of services to policy makers, purchasers, providers, and members of the public, promoting informed decision-making. In a constantly evolving health care environment, we ensure that consumers stay informed — increasing accountability, access, and quality of care.

Grants Management

Through decades of experience supporting biomedical research, we are intimately familiar with congressionally directed medical research, as well as defense medical research and development and behavioral health research programs. DLH manages grants that drive medical innovation by developing knowledge and material solutions that support combat-related trauma from point-of-injury to traditional military treatment facilities. Using multiple standardized processes and tools to minimize duplication of biomedical research, we support awarding and administering grants, cooperative agreements, and other related instruments, and we serve on government- and industry-sponsored panels to keep a pulse on evolving policy, procedures, and regulations.
